Things of Today: Hair, Outfit, Some Makeup

Not a whole lot going on here:
Eyebrows: MAC eyeshadow in “Coquette,”
paired with MAC “Lingering” eyebrow pencil
Face: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation in B10,
Dior highlighter in “Amber Diamond,”
and Bobbi Brown cream blush in “Calypso Coral”
Eyeshadow: none
Eyeliner: MAC eyeshadow in “Smut,”
smudged along the lashline with MAC #219 brush
Eyelashes: Curled w/ Koji lash curler,
Shiseido Mascara Base,
L’Oreal Voluminous Lashes mascara (waterproof black)

Top knot bun: clear elastic “no-show” hair tie + bobby pins to pin the knot onto the top of my head. I always get asked how to do this and how long it takes. It takes roughly 30 seconds (no joke) or so, because I just grab my hair in a high ponytail, swing my hair around in a circle, tie the hair tie around the knot, and then I pin the sides of the bun to the top of my head.

This works best on second-day hair. The knot doesn’t come undone with the bobby pins I use, and it does help to have a little more than shoulder-length hair. However, if you have shorter hair, you can always maintain a bun lower on your head.

Chilly weather attire:
Black legging pants (Banana Republic) – not shown
Blue long-sleeved shirt (Gap)
Camel colored knit sweater carigan (Gap)
Black knee-length leather boots (Madewell) – not shown

Going for a rather natural and no-fuss look today. I’m out of town this weekend visiting the boyfriend. Last night we went into Austin for dinner and movie. Tonight, we’re cooking dinner at home and hopefully, I will be indulging in some Chardonnay! Who knows; perhaps we’ll have some adventures today. What’s everyone doing this weekend?

Sorry for the poor quality pictures today – the phone will have to do, as I left my Canon camera at home! Boo.

What’s In My Makeup Bag?

Behold, the contents of my makeup bag. This has been a reader-request for quite some time, so apologies for the late post. I understand those who have been curious – and no, I don’t find it intrusive at all. I’m one of those people who wonder about other people’s makeup bag contents (and sometimes purses) too! I’ve emptied the contents here to show a picture of everything. Keep in mind that I tend to rotate products quite frequently, so what I’m showing here is limited to the next few days. Also, just FYI – I’m not one of those ladies who carries around a makeup bag either. I know – disappointing, right? But I’m quite a minimalist when I’m out and about. Long story short: my makeup bag houses items that are my “current favorites” until I get bored and items get replaced or rotated out.

Featured items:
Benefit eyeshadows in “Raining Men” and “Nice Melons”
Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base
L’Oreal Voluminous False Lashes Mascara (waterproof) in “Black”
L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder in “Warm W1 Porcelain”
Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Conditioner in “01 Peppermint”
MAC Brow Set in “Beguile”
MAC Eye Brow Pencil in “Lingering”
KOJI eyelash curler
MAC eyeshadow in “Coquette”
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream (original formula) SPF 15
Benefit High Beam highlighter
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Foundation in B10
Christian Dior – DiorSnow UV Shield SPF 50 PA +++ in translucent
Benefit Bella Bamba Triple Dimension Blush

Makeup bag is from Victoria’s Secret from years ago. I believe they were giving this out for free at one point in time when you purchased a certain amount of PINK products.
