The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder

For the most part, I’ve given up on bronzers since it seems that none of them are good for my skin tone. As a really, fair-complected Asian, I find that most bronzers are either too red, too orange, or just too muddy/brown and it makes my face look dirty and unnatural. I’m a big fan of contouring my nose, but I leave everything else as is since too much contouring looks ridiculous on me. I read on a few Korean blogs that The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01 is best for really fair skins.

Previously, my post on Bronzers & Contouring for Pale Skins was the best I could do regarding color, tone, and texture of the bronzers I liked for my skin tone.

My shade 01 is perfect because when swatched, it almost seems too light. It’s buildable so at least we have the option to make it darker if need be. This is perfect for contouring since it provides the perfect amount of “shadow” without looking too dark or muddy. This bronzer is matte so whether you use this as a bronzer or a contouring powder, it helps that there’s no shimmer/glimmer/glitter/sheen to it. I’d definitely recommend this shade for those who are fair and extremely fair.

Even though the product is “enriched with honey,” it really doesn’t do much for my skin — it’s really the color that I’m after anyway. It’s quite long-lasting, doesn’t disturb already-applied makeup, and seems very natural on the skin. The appearance of your skin is extremely subtle so don’t be frustrated thinking this product isn’t delivering results. I almost chose shade 02 just in case, but I’m glad I stuck with 01 for subtle contouring.

For reference, I use pinkish-yellow based foundations in the fairest tone in most ranges/brands. While I don’t use MAC face products, I’m a NW15/NC15ish and I don’t tan my face in anyway. For you fair-skinned friends, if you’ve struggled to find a bronzer that works for you, give this a try!
