Rachel K CC Cream Renew

After really considering if I needed yet another CC cream in my collection, I finally caved and purchased the Rachel K CC Cream Renew from LisaLisaD1’s online store. Roughly two years ago when she first started to carry the Rachel K CC Creams in her store, I purchased the original formula and wrote a review about it posted here, so I was extra excited she had access to the CC Renew Creams. If you’re interested in reading a comprehensive review, check out The Make-Up Blogette’s post here.

The new Rachel K CC Renew “transforms your skin through instant skin perfection and long-lasting anti-ageing skincare.” Considered to be one step up from the original CC range, the Renew line “illuminates your skin and visibly minimizes all imperfections and dark spots instantly and over time” by incorporating an “advanced color-correcting complex.” A major part of the new Renew line is the Deep Sea Water, which is “highly concentrated in rich minerals” and “immediately moisturizes dehydrated skin.”

The “break-through Biomimetic Anti-Age Complex boosts the natural skin’s regeneration process to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and to improve skin’s firmness.” With SPF 35 PA++ sun protection and added skincare benefits, this CC cream is made for all skin types and provides sheer to moderate coverage as a base. The texture of the CC cream is featherweight and thin — it applies smoothly and blends out quickly without much effort. I like to use a synthetic buffing brush and it has provided such a naturally radiant finish.

Skincare benefits: this CC rejuvenates your skin with EGF, which repairs skin tissue and promotes collagen. Adenosine is a popular ingredient to for wrinkle reduction, while macadamia oil and white tea are known to be ingredients with high levels of anti-oxidants to protect the skin. Much like traditional BB creams, this CC cream has Hyaluronic Acid to help with hydration and skin’s firmness, and arbutin evens skin tone and reduces redness. This product truly is an all-in-one, fore sure.

Like most CC creams, this is designed to be worn alone or in conjunction with a foundation. For me, wearing it alone works fine; but, if you’ve got pigmentation issues, pairing this with a light layer of foundation could do wonders for the appearance of your skin. It’s incredibly soothing on the face, dries semi-matte and glowy, and makes pores and redness disappear instantly. I’ve noticed that my skin is hydrated and looks plump and healthy when I use this, and the natural finish and look of the product makes your skin look like skin.

I chose the shade Extra Light which works great. Originally, I was going to go with Light, but decided against it after seeing swatches. The pink undertone of the shade Extra Light is helpful in making my skin look bright, but it doesn’t make me look white like a ghost. For those with light to light-medium skins, the shade Light should work fine since CC creams tend to adapt to your skin. Unfortunately, Medium is the darkest shade in the Rachel K CC Renew line. I like the CC Renew better than the original. I also like that the pigment of this CC isn’t a weird gray shade — which I personally despise.

Using this product is a quick way to look put together in the morning without going through a “routine” since this is an all-in-one kind of product. I’m interested in the Renew Pressed Powder as well, so that may be one of my next purchases. I recommend the Rachel K CC Cream Renew and it’s by far one of my favorite CC’s as of right now. It comes in a close second behind the Hera Complete Care CC Cream.
