July Favorites

I’ve never done a monthly favorites post — mainly because all my products are on rotation. But strangely, this month, I had quite a few standout products that really needed some extra love and attention. Because I’m quite picky about products to begin with, this post says a lot; and, I would highly recommend any of them for sure. Also, let me note that these items qualify as “re-purchase-able” items in the future. That’s saying a lot! :)

The Jo Malone Earl Grey & Cucumber Cologne has been my fragrance of choice lately, and I’ve also been enjoying randomly mixing it with my other JM fragrances as well. It’s a light scent that’s really perfect for summer time. A few weeks ago, I ordered the La Roche Posay Cerlip Lip Care Cream from eBay and I’m loving it for night time. It’s thick and emollient but spreads easily onto the lips and settles nicely. I wear it throughout the night and it’s still there in the morning.

I’m still on my SK-II skincare routine and recently added the Facial Clear Solution to my morning skincare regimen and I’m quite happy with it. The lotion is a clear gel type that absorbs quickly and has excellent oil control. It is described as “a fresh, cool and quick-absorbing water-based moisturizer that helps regulate oil right where it’s produced.” As with all SK-II products, this contains pitera and “a rare marine vitamin complex to help regulate oil production at its source, deep within pores, even in the T-zone.” Totally worth the money.

Lately, my sunscreen of choice has been the Shiseido Anessa Perfect Essence Sunscreen SPF 50. Like all Japanese sunscreens, it’s water-based so you need to shake it before application. It absorbs quickly and dries matte on the skin. I like this the best out of the Shiseido Anessa range because it controls oil. And, lastly, the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops is the best thing that ever happened in my life. It is “a fast nail polish dryer that helps prevent smudges and dings. With just a few drops, nails are dry to the touch in 60 seconds and completely dry in less than 2 minutes.” And, best of all, it really does what it claims. I apply my nail polish, then my top coat, and then drop a few drops of the Dry & Go Drops on each nail. Your nail polish dries instantly and your cuticles are moisturized at the same time. Seriously.

I hope to have another lucky month in the near future. Can you believe that fall is just around the corner? Where did the time go? Also, on a side note, I think purchasing the Shiseido Anessa sunscreen in the larger size is a better deal. I got the small one to test out, but will be ordering the larger size once I begin to run out of this one!

As always, thanks for reading and happy August.
