I missed out on the Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette for Eyes last year and didn’t want to make the same mistake again this time around. I ordered the palette as soon as it was available on Sephora’s website, and I’ve been eagerly and happily using it for two weeks straight! Described as an “elegant and modern eye palette featuring a dozen eye shadows that range from cool to warm shades,” this is the ultimate grown-up palette for those of us who have graduated from the Urban Decay Naked palettes. It’s worth the investment — just under $50 for 12 shades — and, it’s totally worth it.
The palette contains 12 shadows, all ranging in shades and textures. The shades included are: Sparkling Dew, Guava, African Violet, Plum Smoke, Kir Royal, Violet Ink, Vanilla Nuts, Primrose, Fresco, Bamboo, Truffle, and Espresso Bean. I tried to capture the colors as true as I could by adjusting the lighting. What else you need to know is that the top row is organized into cool colors, while the bottom row features warm colors. Both rows are arranged in light to deep shades from left to right.
All the shades are buttery smooth, pigmented, and apply very smoothly onto the lids without skipping across the skin. Even the darker, more matte colors are easy to work with. The best part about this palette is that the colors coordinate well with one another, shades can be paired to your liking, and all the colors featured in the palette are usable and wearable. One of the things I hate about palettes is that there are often shades/items that I don’t ever use; not with the Artist’s Palette, however. To me, it’s money well-spent.

I recommend this palette and I’m totally in love with it. It’s convenient, portable, and always dependable — with shades that can create so many different looks. The versatility of the palette is impressive — you can create natural, every day looks and also create date night and girls’ night out looks as well. It’s user-friendly with shades that are flattering, with different textures, and colors that compliment one another. The case is magnetized and closes firmly; and the long and wide mirror is useful for traveling or when you’re on-the-go. I recommend this palette, so definitely order it this year and don’t miss out!
